This quote in itself shows a complete lack of understanding about the forces involved, since freezing and flooding are the likely results of global warming. This kind of thinking reminds me of the early days of the fossil record being discovered: a number of religious authorities of the time argued that there couldn't possibly be any animals that went extinct because God wouldn't allow such a thing to happen....
