A word to skeptics: I proposed my resolution secure in the conviction that resolutions are invariably broken. My own, anyway.

1. To balance out Sheila, I resolve to more ever more stuff up.

2. And, befitting one who aspires to be a member in good standing of the Noise Abatement Society, I will join Daryl in shutting up more. [This does not conflict with #1 as most of my "inventions" will not be vocalized.]

Oooh, I don't like to make formal resolutions, but my intention is to avoid buying any nonessential stuff, esp. clothes, for as long as I can stand it.

Another intention is to invite people over more often.

And, when my new job starts, walk to work as often as weather permits (my route involves the Brooklyn Bridge, so weather is a big concern).

I'm going to read at least 25 books recreationally this year, a kind of modified Fifty Book Challenge. This is, of course, in addition to the monsterous stack of academic-related books I'll no-doubt be delving into this year, as well, so it all evens out.
