The World Come of Age Promotional Material

In preparation for submitting to film festivals, I’ve been working on promotional material for the documentary I recently finished. Here’s a quick write-up I’d be interested in getting feedback on both in terms of its content and whether it provokes interest in the film.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks.

The World Come of Age is the story of a gay man living in a rural north Texas county coming to terms with his mother’s legacy — a woman who struggled with her own sexual identity at a time and in a place those questions could not be asked.

Interspersed with interviews of others from the community, as well as external footage of the country and land, the documentary becomes an oral exploration of place, punctuated by the sites and sounds of their shared history.

Deron Bauman (author of Mockingbird, and founding editor of elimae) ‘s first film lets the community, through its people and its landscape, speak for itself. 84 minutes. Filmed in HDV. Completed in 2006.

I think it works well. I congratulate you! The only sentence that I find kind of awkward is the one about letting the community speak for itself. My suggestion would be to substitute little short biographical sentences about the director… Deron Bauman is the author of Mockingbird and the founding editor of elimae. This is his first film. … i might just be talking jive here though.
