By the way, Deron, thanks for this and the 'big pants' anecdote. (Did you know I am Renner's official unauthorized biographer? It's true. Well, I mean . . . he didn't exactly say no . . . and I stole the phrase "official unauthorized" directly from one of his email messages.)

Sunday night: Lateish
Southern Illinois

It has been sleeting and sleeting here in Illinois (stupid sleet, stupid Illinois), and I had been driving through the stupid sleet of stupid Illinois for seven and a half stupefying hours when I reached my journey's end and plucked a stack of mail from the box.

There I found my very own inscribed copy of "Mosefolket".

I'll have more to say of "Mosefolket" and its maker but for now I wish simply to add my voice to Deron's and urge you to place an order with Alhambra Press/Kathryn Rantala. Urge: that's stronger than encourage.

You make me smile with your memory of that event. And yes, today is definitely a "stupid rain, stupid river" day. (I could go on to say "Stupid Dallas" too, but that might offend some of you.)

And thank you for so kindly mentioning my new book of poems. Although it's not officially published yet, and not posted at the Ravenna/Alhambra website, if anyone is yearning for a copy (a situation I find difficult to fathom -- I'm afraid the 100-copy first edition will be at least 50 copies too large), you can contact Kathryn Rantala, the publisher, via the website (www.ravennapress.com) or krantala (at) gmail (dot) com and make arrangements for a copy now.

Thank you, Deron. You are too kind.
