See the Flockers: Daniel Lestarjette
OK, I’ll jump on this bandwagon.
I think this was on a Saturday morning, snapped in one of the little Ikea mirrors by my desk. Who knows what I was doing—probably avoiding something more important—but I like my brother’s response: “Put a damn shirt on!”
On one of the exceedingly rare occasions where I was drunk, surrounded by my drunk friends. Normally, I cannot stand the taste of alcohol, but the street party outside my apartment was a special occasion, I suppose.
Hmmm…that trendy-cool necklace broke, sending little beads everywhere. Merde! I really liked it, too.
I’m also on Flickr, if you’re interested.

I really must get over and see what you’ve got on Flickr. Somehow I have the feeling that even if you’re not living in one of the very apartments I’ve inhabited in Chicago, you probably live a few blocks from some place I used to live. Just a feeling.
Anyway, I bet there’ll be loads of cat photos.
my first comment was going to be: Daniel Lestarjette, man of mystery, but then I clicked and saw the rest. thanks for introducing yourself. like I said yesterday, this has been a lot of fun.
I think it’s funny that your brother cares whether you’re wearing a shirt.
Re: your brother’s “Put a damn shirt on!”: Had Renner been there, he might have commanded you to put on your big (or little) pants.
Sheila: yes, lots and lots of kitty photography. I’m in Lakeview, BTW, near Racine and Belmont.
Deron: I like to think of myself as mysterious. However, it rarely works out that way.
Cooper: LOL—he’s a funny guy, trust me on this one.
Sheila (encore): It’s entirely possibly that I was not wearing pants.
Daniel, don’t you even tell me you live in the Bel-Ray. (I bet it no longer exists — or has been transformed.)
From 1991 to 1994 I lived in the building on the northwest corner of Racine and Oakdale. Close enough for you?
Hmmm…I don’t know what the Bel-Ray is, unless it’s the halfway house on the corner. In which case, no…
That’s it. At any rate, I believe so. For years it was an SRO. Anyway, yes, it’s the (former?) flophouse on the southwest corner of Racine and Belmont.
Ah, let me take you on a tour of the sordid underbelly of the “City That Works”.
(Seriously, when I lived in the South Loop during the final days of its gentrification, I used to envision organizing monthly tours that I would call “Sheila Ryan’s ‘Nighttime Is the Right Time’ South Loop Tours”. The brave souls who signed up would get one last glimpse of the remnants of the South Loop’s Skid Row days. For an extra charge, I’d rent folks air guns and we’d go shoot rats down by River City — where I also once lived.)
