See the Flockers: Joshua Conner

I just got new glasses and this is the only post-new-glasses picture I could find. Me, on 1/1, post midnight-run-in-Central-Park, with a couple of friends.

Looks like you couldn’t outrun them girls.

Or a Cooper and a Conner? Okay, I quit.

Looks like you couldn’t outrun them girls.

Sigh, if only. It took everything I had just to keep up with those girls.

so, was it a race? are you a runner? do you race often? etc.

It was my first race, and just a 4-miler. I consider myself a beginning runner; when Flagstaff isn’t covered in snow like it is right now, I do 15-20 miles/week. Eventually I’d love to do some marathon training - the two sisters in that picture, Diana and Ingrid, do 1 or 2 a year - but I probably won’t get around to it until I finish college.

    Anyone else here run?

I did 10 miles once and trained for it.

    Never again.

So what do you do when Flagstaff is covered in snow?

I’ve only been to Flagstaff once, by the way, but it knocked my socks off.

    (Which realy complicates X-country skiing.)

Some cross-training, and weightlifting. I have a hunch I’d be able to run quite a bit longer and faster if I weighed 180 instead of 200, so I’ve started on the Abs Diet. Lost 5 pounds so far!
