Il m’a vu nue, supernue

Mesdames et messieurs, je vous présente Les Chauds Lapins:

(Clickez sur la photo; you can also see the video more crappily, at MySpace.)

Why yes, since you asked–those are banjo ukuleles. Aren’t they the cutest things?

Les Chauds Lapins means literally, ‘the hot rabbits.’ Figuratively it means someone who is always turned on sexually. Usually, it refers to the guys who are always hitting on girls. This music will cause you to recklessly try your luck.

A thirteen-track album is apparently “‘in the can’ as they say.” And if you, as I do, enjoy Meg Reichardt’s singing, you may also like her band The Roulette Sisters.

(No, I do not know these people.)

“Banjoleles,” I’m told those things are sometimes called.

“super nue” is my new favorite two word combo.

I find it hypercute that French people (the ones I know, at least) are always tacking super and hyper onto the fronts of things. So, yes, supernue really made the song for me.

Let us summarize the vocabulary learned in this unit:

    • supernue – extremely naked
    • un chaud lapin – someone who is always turned on sexually (would the closest translation be horndog?)
    • in the can – almost completed
    • banjolele – a cross between a banjo and a ukulele; per Wikipedia, “a four-stringed musical instrument with a banjo-type body and a neck with (typically) sixteen frets (shorter than a banjo, but longer than a ukulele).”

I suppose I could go and look it up myself, but qu’est-ce que lapin veut dire en anglais ?

As it says in the post above, “Les Chauds Lapins means literally, ‘the hot rabbits.’”

So too super-too! I adore what I’ve seen and heard of Les Chauds Lapins. Thank you, India.

And just think: The new album will probably be released just in time for my birthday.

And when might your birthday be?
