See Flockers flocking
The inaugural Meatspace Meeting of the New York Flock was convened last night at the Old Town Bar in Manhattan.
Guinnesses (Guinni?) were drunk. Weighty topics were discussed. Grainy, flashless photos were taken.
We closed the place, as you can see.

Did y’all get a dish of turnip greens to share?
Ain’t no turnip greens at the Old Town. Burgers and fried calamari would be more like it, but we didn’t have that, either.
Lotta Guinness, though. I think it’s significant that we were all drinking Guinness. (The Bud longneck in the second photo belongs to Andrew’s non-Flocker friend.)
For me, Guinness is a handy iron supplement. FYI
I really can drink that stuff all night. I never understood why people think it is filling. It actually has less carbonation than most American beers (read: bud).
It just doesn’t make sense.
And did you? Drink it all night, I mean. Seemed like you guys were there for the long haul.
People find Guinness filling because it actually has flavor–it’s a feature, not a bug. As I said, depending on what you’re hankering for, it could be lentil soup, or a grilled cheese sandwich, or chocolate cake . . . If you drink three pints, you could experience the whole meal.
I was in it for the long haul and I had a serious hangover the next day, worst I had in years.
Don’t try to out drink a Iraq vet. Oofaa
