    Ah, a happy 67.5 percent satisfaction for me!

    I was a teacher/librarian till I retired. The satisfaction level is interesting, given other statistics that show that 50% of teachers leave the profession within their first 5 years. (Or is this only in Texas?)

    I’d have to go back to the article to which Deron linked, but I don’t recall any indication of how many years the folks surveyed had been in their occupations. Those still in a given line of work after five years might be assumed to be content; on the other hand, they might be dreadfully unhappy but resigned to fate. Who knows? Not me.
