we saw an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and a Porsche Carrera GT tonight. which just goes to show, if you’ve got say a tenth to a quarter of a million dollars laying around you can still have a beautiful car.

What a great clip. 1960s automobile designers possessed an admirable combination of arrogance and vision. Each concept car from that area seemed to pave the way for the inevitable next step, atomic-powered anti-gravity skymobiles.

My first car was a hand-me-down ‘62 Ford T-bird, and it had the futuristic interior, swing-away steering wheel, and Mission to Mars exterior styling of the design exercises from that decade. It stood out from the other futuristic road cars of its era, an era long gone.

All of those 1960s cars were developed and drawn by hand. It would be years before CAD and CAM became part of the process.
