This extraordinary picture is part of a travelling exhibit presently in Wichita (and headed to Kansas City this November) called “Passionate Observer: Eudora Welty Among Artists of the Thirties.”

god I love that woman.
Me too. I have her book of photographs One Time One Place and often show some of the pictures in classes. My admiration for them is similar to my admiration of Walker Evans’s work. I can close my eyes now and see the pictures in Let Us Now Praise Famous Men.
