iPhone Give-Away Update
Jason has been kind enough to announce the clusterflock iPhone Give-Away, so thanks, Jason, and thanks to all those who have participated as a result.
If things keep up, we may be able to give away two iPhones (at least).

update: okay, we have enough for one iPhone so far (the entry-level $500 dollar one) so far.
this is awesome.
someone (or ones) is going to be very happy.
Out of curiosity, how are you going to ensure that you’ll be able to get [x] number of iPhones? I assume they’re going to sell out everywhere. Are you going to wait in line for the winner, or are you just going to Paypal the value of an iPhone back into the account(s) of the winner(s)?
yep, the latter, the winner(s) will be receiving funds in their PayPal accounts for the purchase of the phone, all else will be up to them.
hopefully those who win will keep us updated on how the process goes and perhaps even document it.
Another question. Since you’re giving away an iPhone for every 25 entries (correct me if I’m wrong on that), what happens to the remainder? If 89 people enter, are you going to give away three iPhones and the fourth winner gets 76% of an iPhone (or the cash value thereof)?
Also,
we decided we would give the remainder to charity, but I’m also open to giving the remainder to another person involved in the give-away if people would be interested in that.
Also?
we are currently ten people away from giving away two iPhones. remember clusterflockers can participate too.
I just bought a second ticket, in an attempt to keep my odds up. Can any advanced poker technicians out there work out the “number of tix you can buy that would bring +EV to a 50-ticket pool with two draws“?
I’d be interested too.
fyi, we’re 6 participants away from two phones.
I like the idea of charity, but my charity of choice is the iPhone for Mary Jeys Foundation. If Mary doesn’t win a phone, I vote for giving her the leftover money so that she’ll have a headstart on purchasing one.
Seriously. Cindy isn’t my mom, nor is she being paid by me to say these things. I am considering developing a slush fund for these situations however.
