i was in time

in flight, in finiteness,
my pockets full of my happiest days
i’ve been working on a group of pictures that have been catalyzed by Eugene Ionesco’s ‘fragments of a journal’ from which i extract the captions.
i suppose this is my favorite to date

Alek. This title, this caption, my existence, my prayer. This photo, almost too unbearable to allow myself a look, yet look I must. You’ve captured me, inside me somewhere, in some place where I wouldn’t have known to look. I’m looking. I’m scared. It’s beautiful. I didn’t know this place lived until now.
Astonishing work. Truly astonishing. You should be so proud of yourself. Just the play of shades and tones is marvelous.
Dear Alek,
Thank you for posting this and linking to your photo blog. Your work is beautiful and moving.
If I had your mailing address, I would use up some of my stockpiled stationery and write a proper thank-you note, but I hope this will do for now.
Yours truly,
India
Rick, thank you, it’s a fine thing to have your company exploring this world
And Cooper thank you also, I’m glad you like the shades and tones, I sometimes wonder that it’s not all too monochromatic.
Dear India
(of the lovely name), may I send you my mailing address for some other time you might wish to send me a ‘whatever kind of note’ on your stockpiled stationary, there’s nothing quite like the feel and smell of real paper.
Yours most sincerely
Alek
Alek, this is amazing.
