Well said, Deron. It's fucking musical chairs. My only hope of our avoiding a war with Iran is also part of my greatest fear: we don't realy have the troop strength or future borrowing capacity to launch such a war (that's the Hope part). But this makes it all the more likely that when we do the "surgical strike"--again with the assertions that it will all be over in weeks if not days--we will be pressed to the wall by an "unexpectedly fierce" response and the nuclear option will be all we have left. Americans are fond of stories in which average-guy-heros step up to save the planet from destruction, but the story we are about to get is one in which a few imbecilic/megalomaniacal/messianic shitheads manage to destroy all of the hopes any species on the planet ever had.

yeah, he's a causational genius, our president.

withdrawing troops who were fighting against the people who orchestrated 9/11 (in Afghanistan) so we could take out a secular (i.e. non-islamist) dictator while befriending the nation that most supports, financially and otherwise, Al-Qaeda (Saudi Arabi) so that we can invade a country who, while they do support terrorist organizations (Hezbolah), appear to be less involved with Al -Qaeda than the previously mentioned Saudi Arabi with troops we don't have for goals which aren't defined in a region we don't understand while losing ground on the nuclear containment arranged by the Clinton administration of North Korea.

great job, Bushie!
