Free the HR 1255

“There has never been an expectation that the confidences of the Executive Office are absolute and unyielding,” Supreme Court Justice William Brennan wrote in a 1977 dispute over President Nixon’s attempts to take 42 million pages of official documents and 880 White House tape recordings with him to California after he resigned.

The Senate apparently needs reminding — it seems to have forgotten about legislation that would hold the Bush administration to its obligations to the public and historical records.
