Future Irony #643
I saw my doctor this morning. We spent a lot of time talking about the Audi A4 he used to own, and what a wretched misrepresentation of German automotive engineering it was. He drives a Honda now. That’s not why I visited him.
Anyway, when we were almost finished he asked me if I wanted a flu shot while I was there. I thought about it and replied,
“Well, I’ve never had one before — no reason to start now.”
I’m now convinced my act of refusal pretty much wrote the check and signed the contract for an ass-kicking case of influenza in the next ten to twenty days. I had a good run, at least.
I do like German cars.

I wouldn’t worry about the influenza. “Fate, that saucy trickster” (Robert Benchley), likely has something altogether more baffling hidden up her sleeve for you.
