Vernacular Fun

Shorty has been riding the Victrola lately.

‘Flockers (and Friends): What (if anything) does that statement conjure up in your mind? Is it old-timey Reefer Man lingo? World War II code? Schizophrenic wacko talk? You tell me.

it makes me think of the first sentence of a story Gordon would have published in the Quarterly. or an overheard snippet that might change one’s life.

I think of a Tennessee Williams character describing her scruffy dog’s activities.

Sounds like a euphemistic way of saying putting a peepee in a va-jay-jay.

    Or whackin’ off.

Oh, Rick, your mind is in the gutter!

Yup. Y’all take the high road. I’ll take the low road. And I’ll be in Scotland a’fore ye. (I should link in warthogs here.)

    BTW
God, I miss the “Q.” When I’d find it in a bookstore, I’d bring it home, hungrily gobbling all the bits as soon as I got home. I love elimae, but something bound in paperback, in my hands, cover by Chip Kidd. I love you Deron, I love you Cooper, I love elimae. There’s just something about the feel of the thing in one’s hands. I love you, too, Gordon, I hope you’re well and happy.

Rick, you and I thought the very same thing about that sentence.
