Lars Von Trier

I have not seen many of his films, but I think he is one of my favorite directors. I find all of his films profoundly disturbing in good ways. After watching Dogville a few years back I couldn’t stop shaking for almost twenty minutes and could barely hold back the tears. More recently, I have been trying to finish Breaking the Waves, but can’t bring myself to watch the lead character try to sleep with men who are not her husband. She seems to do wrong in earnest and it rattles me to the bone.
