Burn To Shine
Burn to Shine Manifesto:
1. Gather bands on one day in a house that will be destroyed.
2. All bands play one song each, and perform their song twice.
3. No overdubs.
4. Film the destruction.
5. Edit and display in chronological order.
6. That is all.

I feel compelled to mention that the phrase burn to shine was used as a bit of lyric from the theme song of The Sopranos.
As Danny and I were engorging ourselves on The Sopranos, one weekend after the show’s first season DVD’s came out, I posed the question, “Who’s singing this song?”
Danny googled it, and within minutes we ordered (this before the more recent days of downloading) A3′s CD “Exile on Cold Harbor Lane.” Since this is a comment, I don’t think I can do the fancy thing where the title is the link, so click this.

When this CD arrived, I put it on and was enraptured. I was putting ceiling tile up in the TV Room that day. I listened over and over. I couldn’t get enough of it fast enough. Layers upon layers of sound upon sound, words upon words.
Now, we’re talking a few years ago. A-3s likely passed into oblivion, but for me, really, really yummy. Every now and then it turns up in a house mix on a Saturday from Danny’s iTunes. The CDs somewhere in the house, couldn’t fathom a guess where to look for it though, since we went all digital and all. Still, every once in a while, I can catch myself humming Hypo Full of Love.
