The Taste of Wine

Wine, we know, gets better with age - but now it appears it tastes better the more it costs.

This is so overwhelmingly true it is ridiculous. I also like to say of the 90% of people who say they know about wine, only 10% actually do (and I am not talking “expert” knowledge).
Well, that’s good to know, because I’m in lurve with Shellback Sauvignon Blanc, a New Zealand wine currently on sale at Whole Foods for $8.99 a bottle.
I’m comin’ over to your place, Cindy, for my glass of that fine (inexpensive) wine. We have made discoveries in our area of a small winery (Homestead) with absolutely delicious wine that is not over-priced. Its always better to let the pallette be the “decider.”
This is what I am going to try to do, Lynn, when I’m in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin serving as a judge of the World-Wide Mustard Competition!
Shiela, that’s fantastic, and a great strategy — we ALL need to be participants in the World-Wide Mustard Competition, and it may be that some mustards go with great wines!
Lynn, your comment just makes we wish that all ‘flockers and friends could congregate up in my part of the world within the next couple of weeks so we could get together in Mount Horeb and taste mustard, then taste us some wine!
And sody crackers! What’s your favorite? Mine are Zestas. My brother and I would eat a whole tube watching Laugh-In on Wednesday nights when Mom and Dad were at church.
Sheila, I only recently tried Lowensenf (sp?) “hot.” Having bought a small jar in December at Krist Kindl Markt at church. Yum! Will there be contenders to it up there in Wisconsin?
Yes, Sheila, I expect a full report. I want names — names! — the world’s best mustards. I must have them.
