Deron: Does it have to be a decade you personally remember? If not, I think the 1940s kind of sucked. I’m sure we can all plug in many reasons, but one reason that sticks with me is the fact that after WWII Americans could have come together in important ways, but instead largely insisted on maintaining the old lack of civil rights for African Americans–while also urging the little lady to head back to the kitchen where a splendidly modern time-saving stove was waiting for her.
Me neither, aside from those exceptions that only bolster my distaste for the nineteenth century generally.
And the 17th and 18th centuries don’t excite me beyond endurance.
which begs the question, favorite and least favorite decade. for me the best decade was the 70s and the worst was the 80s.
