Catch of the Day (January 14, 2008)
Reading Michael’s comment on Deron’s photo of Franklin reminded me of my own snuggly-wuggly killer, Lena. She’s had a rough season, what with being transplanted from southernmost to northernmost Illinois and enduring cabin fever throughout an unusually wintry winter, but she’s still in trim, as she demonstrated one balmy day last month when she tore off down the hill to the wood and brought back this prize.

such a good kitty.
He’s not dead, he’s just sleeping. He’s not dead.
Oh, yes, Michael. Dead as dead could be. And over four inches long.
He’ll wake up. I just know he will.
Okay, Mikey. He’s not dead. He’s gone to live with Grandma in Heaven.
I knew it. Thank you.
When will he be back?
Michael, I think he’s under there.
Underwear?
