Klaus Nomi fans, maybe?

Klaus Nomi’s operatic performances are probably my favorites among his work, and one of my most played CDs of the past 12 or 13 years is the soundtrack to the film Farinelli. It can take a long time for operatic music to grow on me, though, so I don’t know if I will come to love Cecilia Bartoli’s Maria or not. I just bought it yesterday. Bartoli’s range (at least on this recording) is fairly low for a woman, bringing it tonally toward Nomi’s range and that of the pseudo-castrato recordings of Farinelli. Nomi fans might want to take a listen.
