Tricky, Lucy. Tricky. The jerky is part of my wintertime vehicular provisions kit, along with water and blankets and flashlights and spare batteries. I worry that Peking duck may turn a mite high after a few weeks, especially if the temperature soars above freezing.

Oh, dear. I expect I'd best tell you that although we do our best to accommodate visitors' preferences by offering non-smokers the option of retreating to a drafty shed, we wouldn't dream of sheltering the goats out of doors. They sleep right here in the house with us.

Perhaps (in light of your dislike of winter) you'll want to schedule your visit for one of the warmer months? A summertime stay would offer this additional advantage: on temperate nights, you could avoid sharing your bed with a goat by sleeping on the wooden deck out back. We would be happy to loan you linens and a bit of foam rubber padding.

As well as a dislike of goats, winter is right up there along with smokers. Unless of course I'm doing the smoking! Its years since I last seen a winter and I hope I never see one again. On that point its winter here just now, 22 degree's C (not F), think I might have to put a warmer T shirt on!

Oh, yes, I noticed that last night Amy did reveal the answer to the mystery. I like to believe that she merely thinks that the similarity lies in the haircut and the eyes. It's really something else.

(Oh . . . and is Indi the child's full name? Or is she India? Or Indira? Or . . . ?)

On the way to my sister's last night I finally pressed Amy on the similarity (between Renner and Indi) hoping for something juicy to share with y'all. Turns out it's just an issue of eyes and haircut. I don't know if I'm disappointed.

Cindy: Oh, yes, I do take Mastercard -- and soon you'll be able to register on line via clusterflock.

Renner: Ah! Now I see the link 'twixt you and the little girl neighbor of Deron and Amy. It's the tubbettes of applesauce.

Lovely photos. Absolutely lovely. (Even though I hate BEING in winter.)

I travel with pop-top tins of chicken breast (98% fat-free only), tuna packets, tubbettes of applesauce, and small cans of V8.
