catch malaria, get $4,000
SEATTLE – The Seattle Biomedical Research Institute will pay volunteers as much as $4,000 to be bitten by mosquitoes infected with malaria.
Scientists say no lives are in danger because the volunteers can be cured. The institute is testing which vaccines work fastest.
Beats the piss out of the $8/donation I got for giving plasma back in college. Christ.

Does this mean that if I go to Seattle I can’t donate blood anymore?
You can donate, but you can also be blacklisted, which means if you try to donate again, they yell at you and tell you to leave.
Sounds worth it to me.
As I understand it, Malaria stays in your blood for the rest of your life. It can be treated but it will always be there, like chicken pox.
