in celebration of pi day

The Bryant Park Project has “taken it one step nerdier” and challenged people to write haiku style poems about Pi and they’ve changed the format to create the Pi-Ku:

First line: 3 syllables
Second line: 1 syllable
Third line: 4 syllables

This is one of my favorites:

in degrees
pi
is one-eighty…

radians
are
more elegant.

Here is my contribution. I’ll bet a shiny nickel they don’t use it on the air:

    “circle jerk”
    or
    “why pi ain’t square”

I posted mine in the Bryant Park Project, but since I was late to get in on the fun I doubt anyone will see it. Hopefully clusterflock will think I’m as clever as I think I am…

    Beware pi
    day,
    Ides of March eve.

    Confusion.
    Pray,
    hide, or eat pie?

But wouldn’t it be better to write an extended, in fact endless, reverie with syllable count based on the continuing unfolding of the numerals in pi?

    Three point one
    Four.
    Irrational.

    Constant pi
    knows
    no boundaries.

So mine are a little lame. But I love Pi Day!!!

Cooper, an extended, in fact endless, reverie with syllable count based on the continuing unfolding of the numerals in pi — now that would be even more difficult than ottava rima!
