Solving the World’s Water Problems

Dean Kamen, the inventor behind the Segway, demonstrated a water purifying machine last week on the Colbert Report that will purify almost any water source.

    This system that Kamen came up with was featured on Iconoclasts a couple of years ago. It’s simple and brilliant and much-needed.

    Interesting fact: I was a good friend of Kamen’s sister-in-law when they lived in Dallas. Dean’s brother, Bart, is a brilliant man as well, a pediatric oncologist who has dedicated his life to making the world a better place. So has his wife, Ruth (my friend, although we’ve lost touch over the years). Some people do so much good with their lives. Why don’t we all??
