Squirrel Lover!
A self-appointed protector of squirrels has paid to have soft-pine boxes made for the critters and had them placed in trees at City Hall Park.

“Old people like to feed them and the tourists like to see them,” he said. “They’re just very friendly, and they’re cute.”
The man has no idea the venom he is calling cute. Note: old people are in cahoots.
You think that’s scary, visit CSU, Sacramento one day, the squirrels team up with the wild chickens (or they did when I was at school there) creating an axis of evil worse than anything you can imagine.
There are feral chickens in Sacramento? No wonder I’ve always been a little afraid of the place.
I’m being told that the chickens are no longer on campus. It appears that the squirrels may have turned on them.
And, it’s not the feral chickens that scare me, it’s the guys in F250s complete with gun racks that make me nervous.
I think Vagrant Thinker belongs in the flock.
The feral chickens or here?
I think – both.
Oh, please, no, not the chickens…not again!
Okay, just us then. Except that I can’t formally invite you to join the flock because I have no authority in this squirrel-hating group.
Not to put any pressure on Deron or anything.
Oh! I just RTFA. I saw “pine box” and automatically assumed that we were talking about little, squirrel-sized coffins.
Seemed an odd hobby but I’m not one to judge.
