DNA evidence from fossilized poop puts humans in North America a thousand years earlier than previously thought.
The petrified poop — coprolites to scientists — is yielding a look at the diet of these ancient Americans, Jenkins said.

I like it that they found human DNA in some of the poop–but in some cases they are uncertain as to whether it’s the poop of humans–or the poop of something that ate humans, since there was human hair also found in the coprolites. Either way, at least it proves humans were in the vicinity!
