the act of looking away
An excellent post at 2point8 that starts with two relatively unknown photographs of the Martin Luther King assassination then moves on to talk about “reaction” photographs — photographs of people watching something monumental happening: 9/11 for instance, or Kennedy’s assassination — and ends with a pointer to a photography show called “Another Country” with repurposed photos from the civil rights movement. Good stuff.
