Y’all? Vacation is good.

Today, (and maybe tomorrow again)  The Cinema Effect at the Hirshhorn. As it defies description, I’ll attempt none. If you have the chance I know you’d enjoy it.

You will have to tell Deron all about it.

    Rick, please stop stalking me.

I’ve been twice already. Contemplating a third trip. It’s kind of sort of on my commute.

What a cool exhibit! I have to go back especially to see the Fay Wray piece (Release, Christoph Girardet) over and over. Yesterday when I watched it, I found myself moving closer to the screen and nearer the center of the room to where I felt like I was engulfed by the screen. I yearned so much for it to end. I didn’t want it to end. When it did, in a way I did not expect, I decided that the title didn’t do it justice. I decided the title was perfect.

    Truly an amazing exhibit.

As long as you’re in town, I might suggest also checking out the National Portrait Gallery (if you haven’t already) and enjoying a meal at Matchbox, right near there in Chinatown. That’s about how I spend every Sunday.

Thanks for the advice, I’m fighting off the blues a little. This afternoon it’s back home, tomorrow it’s back to work.

I’ve just been looking over the Cinema Effect exhibition brochure, and oh do I want to fly to Washington and camp at the Hirshhorn for a week — especially while the “Dreams” installations are still up. (I’m less enthusiastic about “Realisms”, though I can already think of any number of exceptions.)

And: if I were in Washington for a week making the art scene, I could stalk Garrett in my spare time.
