Regarding my take on what helps, here’s the plan: sipping a nice vodka, I reflect back to the 80’s on my life with Michael-Grant Smith. If I post this on clusterflock, I’ll get his goat.
Walking the dog down the interstate, to a lake three states over. Or, imagining that process so completely, and in such poignant detail, as to not do it and instead run straight away to the person you most love–as if a great homecoming has just occurred.
The contemplation of very large and distant things — such as stars and galaxies.

Out here in the northwesternmost corner of Illinois, we’ve got lots of fresh air. It’s one of our principal resources.
Jobs are kind of scarce, though. Together with what (from a Chicago point of view) I’d consider ‘culture’. The usual trade-off.
