Exploding bottles of olive oil aren’t good for anything.

Does anybody know how to get oil stains out of grout?

yes, hypothetically, if I dropped a nearly full 32 oz bottle of olive oil on the floor, how would I clean the stains out of my unsealed grout?

i think the answer might be to re-grout the tile, but I’m not really wanting to do that.

you might try kitty litter or some other super-absorbent granule.

Oil everything so it matches, then move.

I’m pretty sure Daryl “grout man” Scroggins can help you out on this, Michael. Be patient.

It’s easy: just re-grout. It only takes three years.

Seriously though. They make a tool that looks kind of like a toothbrush that curves down to a straight blade with a roughed-up carbide edge. You can run it along the grout lines and it will quickly remove the grout down to the level that it’s clean. Then get some pre-mixed sanded grout (in a tub or in a tube, depending on how much you need), work it into the groves with a putty knife, then gently wipe it smooth with a damp sponge. After about four hours you can wipe it again (harder) to get the smears up. Then you need to let it sit for about another 20 hours and you can seal it.
