My favorite spot is that satin place just above the nostrils. I like to put my cheek there and inhale as they exhale because the smell is so wonderful. Did you know that horses greet each other by gently blowing air into each other's nostrils? That's horse speak for, "Hiya, buddy."

AND, there's no poop like horse poop. I'll take horse poop over any other kind of poop out there.

It's true! Horses always walk right up to me, nuzzle me a bit, then start rubbing against me like I'm nothing more than a big towel. When I used to ride horses, I never could bring myself to forcibly control them--I'd just gently pull the reins in the direction I wanted to go, and they'd ignore me. Instead, they'd inevitably trot off in the direction they wanted to go--like to the feed barn--and they wouldn't listen to a thing I'd say. Damned horses.

Ever since my mother taught me how to hold my hand when feeding a horse--so as not to get fingers chomped along with the hay--I have loved the velvety softness of a horse's chin. Coarse hairs springing from it, but soft nonetheless. I miss being around horses. Couldn't have one though; Cindy's aura of kindness is apparently visible to them, and they know right away that they can get away with anything with her. They like her--but they immediately rub sweat on her and chew at her buttons.
