Is it possible drivers in Houston are more aggressive than in Dallas?

It is possible, but not probable.

    Splutter!

Houston and Dallas, I think, have different flavors of aggressive.

Neither are even close to the driving situation(s) in south Florida.

Aaron, I’ve never even met you, but I am so glad you left that benighted place. I can scarcely bear to contemplate south Florida.

Actually, aggressive driving doesn’t bother me. It’s when aggression combines with stupidity, lack of skill, and all-round attitude that I wish I had a rocket launcher.

Sheila, don’t ever go to Boston (at least not in a car).

  8. Sheila Ryan on June 30th, 2008 at 9:31 am

Oh, Kathy, I’ve been to Boston many a time . . . but: I must admit, rarely in a car. Not one that I drove, anyway.

The funniest Boston driving incident I recall was around 1985. I was about thirty, my mother was just about seventy, and she and I and my then-husband were driving down from Maine to Boston. I was tired and got all kind of addled as we entered Boston proper. I stopped the car and asked my mother, “How about you take the wheel?”

P.S. Oh, and she did. Acquitted herself admirably.

I cannot find words to describe the Boston driving experience. Some that come close are horrifying, labyrinthine, horrifying, and horrifying.

London probably doesn’t go down too well, eh?

  12. Kathy Hilen-Smith on June 30th, 2008 at 9:50 am

London is on a long long list of places I’ve never been.

I’d say, “Hey, gang, let’s all chip in and buy Kathy a trip to London!” but I think that costs more than the bottle of Stoli we bought for Dave Vogt.

We’re savin’ up for clusterflockstock. Ah… the trip of a lifetime!

To quote a long-time-past Cooper Renner parody of “Monterey” by Eric Burdon & The Animals, re-jiggered to allude to the Lewisville (Texas International) Pop Festival: “Even the crops grooved with us.”
