The Goat and Compasses (God encompasseth us)*

Derek White and his wife, Jess, are having them a Goat Rodeo Kick-off Sale.

If you make a significant purchase, we will give you updates on the goat you helped to finance, though we actually can’t promise we will have a physical goat. It’s more the idea of a goat that drives us.

As it does so many of us.

The Goat and Compasses. The origin of this PUBLIC-HOUSE SIGN is uncertain. A once popular suggestion was that it is a corruption of “God encompasseth us”. Other suggestions are that it was derived from the arms of the Wine Cooper’s Company of Cologne, or merely the addition of the masonic emblem of the compasses to an original sign of a goat.

Wow, I had no idea there was a correlation between goats and compasses. The goat horn is my divining rod.

Goat Rodeo will be written by Sancho once His, or Her, identity is established.

Go thou whither the goat’s horn leadeth thee.
