who does america think he is?

I’ve long thought that John McCain 2008 is not the same as John McCain 2000. FiveThirtyEight points us to some data that shows McCain was much more moderate during his first campaign.

The surprising result is John McCain, who rates as the 8th most conservative senator in the 110th Congress, the 2nd most conservative in the 109th, and the 5th or 6th most conservative in the 108th.

In the 107th Congress, however, McCain was quite moderate.

In the 107th Congress he was the 45th most conservative senator.

I liked McCain back in 2000. Shortly thereafter, he stuck his whole entire head up Bush Machine’s ass and he has never pulled it back out. Based on his performance over the past 10 years, I’d say he didn’t stand for anything then and he doesn’t stand for anything now. He has the potential to be much worse than GW, if anyone can imagine such a thing.

But has he figured out whether or not condoms prevent the transmission of HIV, yet?
