    Nice! Would be perfect as a fixie.

    Every time I see a picture of this bike I wonder about the ride. I’m not thinking it would feel real solid. But, I might be wrong.

    Also, I want one, but you’d never catch me on a fixie.

    All I can think is:

    1) I hope he didn’t race Ironman on those wheels….
    2) Is it lighter than carbon?

    Well, the website says:

    Bamboo Bike Features:

    * Amazing Vibration Damping - Even better than Carbon fiber!
    * High performance frame. Weighs from 4 to 6 pounds but has good stiffness.
    * Crash tolerant. Bamboo is a lot of tougher than most people realize.
    * 10 year warranty
    * Looks cool! A work of art!

    Holy crap! 4 to 6 lbs is FRICKN’ heavy for just tthe frame. That makes it out for a racing frame and in just for looks only….

    BME has been making bamboo ones for awhile: http://www.bmeres.com/bambooframe.htm

    They say “Compared with the carbon frame it really does dampen vibrations better and the ride is more comfortable”

    I wouldn’t have expected that… but 4 to 6 lbs? I’m still stuck on that.
