Crucifunk

Derek White and Jess slept in the shadow of the World’s Largest Cross on their pre-departure cross-country trip. I hate that thing. Driving past it puts me into a funk that does not lift for hours.

I once got in trouble on a car trip for snickering at the name of the town. The clincher was when my parents asked what was so funny and I had to refuse to answer. Looks like the last bit of humor left F-ingham some time ago.

…All this and more awaits the lucky tourist visiting Effingham.

I like to think they’re just prepared for the return to Earth of a rampaging 10-Story Mega Jesus. This might be our only hope.

I can’t wait for Jesus to come back and say, “You made it out of siding?”

We passed another cross somewhere in the Texas panhandle that also claimed to be the world’s largest. Somewhere near Cadillac ranch.
I just got back from hanging out with some goats up in Cerillos, NM.

Somewhere near Cadillac Ranch. That’s rich.

It all looked the same to me. Last time we drove through the panhandle I counted dead armadillos to keep myself busy, this time I didn’t even see one.

Oh, and speaking of christopher walken, I was also hanging out with some horses, cats and dogs today, besides the goats, and there was one cat in particular that everyone was saying resembled Christopher Walken. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of the cat, but I agreed. He really did.
