I’m in Madrid, sitting out on the terrace of some nice bar/restaurant, A nice bottle of Spanish red, a plate of spicy olives and dried sausage. The guitar’s play in the distance as I wait for you all to arrive………………
Just luck, Sheila. I’ve been listening to Brazilian music for years, but I’d never heard of either of these babes until last night. A friend of my mom’s was visiting, and she said, “Type ‘Rosa Passos’ into YouTube.”
The other thing she bid us watch was this, but I suspect rather more people have seen that.
Is there any language more beautiful than Brazilian Portuguese? They could be singing about doing laundry, for all I know.
And, speaking of hotter than my apartment in July, have y’all seen Doña Flor e Seus Dois Maridos? Lately? It’s been in my top three movies for at least twenty years, and I’m not sure what the other two are. No DVD yet, sadly.
I guessed Portuguese, based on Danny telling me, a few nights ago, that Tracy’s first “Sister Smackdown” soundtrack was Portuguese, not French. And I further guessed Brazilian from the rhythm (or maybe from reading India’s comment above.)
Just lush and yummy. (India, you rock, rock, rock.)
If I were to make it a priority, this is the “style” of guitar playing I’d most like to accomplish someday. I need a different guitar and a mentor.
Whoo-wee. Does swooning generally involve the dribbling of fluids? Because I dribbled fluids just now.
India, how is it you always know the best music? Swoon, indeed.
