Michael DeBakey, MD

Dr. DeBakey passed away last week.  What a terrible loss.  Don’t know who Dr. DeBakey is?  You or someone you know has probably benefitted from his work.  Read more here and here.

    When I was a third year med student at MU (in 1999) I was able to attend a guest lecture of his. I assumed it would be about interesting things he had done in his long medical career. It was actually about primary research he was actively pursuing and readying for publication, at age 90.

    An amazing man by any measure.
