Odd USDA Nutritional Facts
It’s real, don’t believe me? Check for yourself. Or, here is a spreadsheet with the screen-captured oddities for less inquiring minds.
I also remember seeing Emu, Buffalo, and Pigeon (under “Squab”).

Squab is quail, correct?
Not according to google.
I didn’t know my beluga whale oil crusts were so high in calories! I need to switch to vegetable shortening.
Nutritional facts:
Bird-eating spider that has just eaten a bird; roasted: 321 cal.
1 gram Parasitic Wasp eggs, eaten raw; 21days after ingestion: 27,796 cal.
Beaver, eaten over a span of 2 weeks: -46,472 cal.
By virtue of context, I gleaned “squab” was pigeon. Once when Danny and I were walking The Plaza, a pigeon landed at our feet. Danny playfully kicked toward it, “Out of my way, squab,” he said.
I love that story, Rick.
That’s one I’ll remember: “Out of my way, squab.”
