    I didn’t know my beluga whale oil crusts were so high in calories! I need to switch to vegetable shortening.

    Bird-eating spider that has just eaten a bird; roasted: 321 cal.

    1 gram Parasitic Wasp eggs, eaten raw; 21days after ingestion: 27,796 cal.

    Beaver, eaten over a span of 2 weeks: -46,472 cal.

    By virtue of context, I gleaned “squab” was pigeon. Once when Danny and I were walking The Plaza, a pigeon landed at our feet. Danny playfully kicked toward it, “Out of my way, squab,” he said.
