Possums in the Mail
I just received a nice email:
My friends and I do a photo caption contest every Friday we call “Photo Caption Friday” (brilliant, right?). It usually turns into battle of wits via PhotoShop. The rules state that folks can only spend 5 minutes re-touching the photo. Anywho, I wanted to let you know that I used the possum photo today and got a huge response. I’ve attached a few of my favorites.

Caption #1:
Below is a promotional poster issued by the Tennessee Dept of Child Services circa 1966. It made the public aware of a new law that had just been enacted called the “Little Lori Lou Law”. Tragically, little Lori Lou Hatfield of Dayton TN lost her right hand when she mistook the family’s Sunday dinner for a cuddly pet, or was it a long lost sibling? (It could be, evolution doesn’t exist in Rhea County). Once enacted the law forbade the keeping, training, eating or breeding of any indigenous creature that hangs from a tree by its tail. Like a monkey!
Caption #2
Realizing that she had made a bad decision, Betty induced vomiting and threw-up the ugly fat girl she had eaten off the road earlier that morning.

Amy, think you’ll find Deron cowering in a closet when you get home tonight?
Ah. And I love the speech balloon in the second photo. The lyrics contained therein. Shades of Chuck Jones/Michael Maltese and the “One Froggy Evening” cartoon.
