    I don’t think people are reliable sources about their own happiness.

    A better metric is probably suicide rate, and Denmark is high up on the list ( #27, though Zimbawe ranks #56 out of 100)/

    My grandmother emigrated to the States from the northwest part of Jutland, and my husband’s great-grandfather’s people, I believe it was, were from Helsingore (Elsinore — yes, the court of ‘the gloomy Dane’). We’re a cheery pair, we are. Happiest folk you could hope to meet.

    They obviously didn’t explore Southeast Missouri very much as part of this study.

    Vin, I believe that’s the most perfectly cryptic comment I’ve ever read here on clusterflock! (Probably because I’m somewhat familiar with southeast Missouri.)
