Austin Handbill Culture

We are just back from two days in Austin–had a fine time. One of the many things we like about the place is the abundance of odd announcements pasted, taped, and pinned on windows, poles and message boards all over the place. There’s something about the sheer fecundity of it that speaks of life. For instance:

    There is a billboard not far from downtown Princeton that offers up to $8,000 for sperm.

    The buxom blond walks into the sperm bank, and silently pushes a note across the counter. The nurse reads it, looks up at the woman, and says, “You want to make…a donation?”

    She nods. “Mmm-hmmm…”

    Valerie–Great place for that billboard. You walk up, show them your Nobel prize, and they hand you the little cup and a physics journal.
