I’ve added the poop category just in case.
i made a huge change in careers about two years ago. the jury is still out, BUT rest assured, i will not be going back.
I walked away from a tenure-track position 13 years ago and became a contributor to the collective. I’m still not sure how it went but it’s been a hell of a ride.
It’s been okay, but I’m hedging my bets and not burning bridges (much).
I’ll keep you posted but, while we are on the subject, does any one want to trade some market research books for a New Testament Greek Lexicon?
I walked away from a six-figure job 2 weeks ago to go work with rescued dogs. So far, so good.
Well Amy, I will tell you in September when I drop down to half time and pursue my lifelong dream of designing and manufacturing fine feminine underthings.
Freelance writing and Engineering Analysis has not been as profitable as one had hoped.
Amanda, you wouldn’t happen to know my LA friend David Faulkner (underthing designer extraordinaire), would you?
I would not, but I will now do some googling. (I’m supposed to be writing a Brideshead Revisted review. Zoot, alors!)
I went from school librarianship to internationally known bon vivant about 19 months ago. It rocks.
Fabulous, guys. Thank you. Right now I’m working on a plan to make a big change. Change is a bit scary at the beginning for me, but I think in the end it will be quite liberating.
Internationally known bon vivant and raconteur, which rocks doubly.
Let us know what happens, Amy.
amy,
Shoot first. Ask questions later.
I went back to school at last year (I’m early 40’s) and am now in the middle of my internship. One of the most liberating, scary, and brave things I’ve ever done.
