I had the supreme good luck, late one night, to see a cast member of Avenue Q perform “Rainbow Connection” at a broadway open-mic, with the assistance of one Mr. Kermit the Frog. The actor was in shirtsleeves, and Kermie came out of a paper bag…but the moment that frog raised his head and nodded to the pianist, we became spell-bound kids for a solid 3 minutes. Some of the girls were crying; “It’s Kermit…!” Okay, I’ll admit, I was a bit misty.
