Cindy, the POD just arrived about 20 minutes ago and it's just darling. The top is an opaque white plastic that lets the light in, there are two wooden dowels to hang clothing, and it has a wood floor. It just needs lighting and a comfortable chair and I'd use it as an office.

Is this the back corner of the house we're looking at? I'm thinking it would sort of be the northeast corner of the house?

Thankfully we are getting those terrible floors refinished this weekend. I must have sacrificed enough virgins to the Gods and my prayer was answered.

A POD will be arriving shortly to hold all of our earthly belongings while the floors transform.

I understand. If you change your mind, give me a year or two lead time. And I'll get right on it.

Rick, I've been thinking about making credenzas a la Florence Knoll but substituting the concrete for her marble. I think if you have a sturdy enough base, and don't plan to ever move the table, you might be able to get away with it.

You can also add fiber to the concrete before you pour it that both makes it lighter and stronger. I've also been thinking that if you poured the concrete thinly and had a slight frame around it, you might be able to make it even thinner.

Just for instance, weight wise, I poured our counters in sections and then when they dried, lifted them into place.

The section that extends into our dining room is roughly 3 x 7 and took five men to get into place.
