Lovely Moth

I saw this creature out back today. Haven’t looked it up yet to see what it’s called.

    Some kind of Hawk Moth (Sphingidae family) certainly; perhaps a Poplar Hawk Moth (Laothoe populi) specifically.

    Thanks Gavan. We have other hawk moths around here but I haven’t seen this one before. I love the flowing shape of its wings and the subtle colors.
