Wabi-Sabi Wasabi-Green Cake
For a Girls Get Together dinner I made a dark chocolate layer cake with blue and green layers of vanilla icing. It was a bit Dr. Suessy and ugly, yet the girls wanted me to pose like I was in a 1960’s ladies magazine showing off my proud creation. It was yummy and imperfect and I’d like to think of it as my Wabi-Sabi Wasabi-Green Cake.

Oh that’s a nice cake, Amy. And all of the colors in the picture remind me of those I used to see in that magazine Venture, I think it was, that always had a 3-D picture on the cover and lots of pictures inside of the sparcely attended buffet at the boss’s home.
Thanks, Daryl. I had thought of the cute cake you guys posted a while ago that you made with Mia, and it made me want to post mine. I really want to see some of the other baking pros like India and Aaron post some of their creations.
Oh, my. That’s fine, Amy. Reminds me of the color of a cake I made in the shape of Trinidad for a friend’s birthday years ago. (I used the part I cut away from the sheet cake to make a little Tobago.)
I love to see pictures of cakes, and this one is beautiful. Thank you, Amy.
I hope to attend Aaron’s Cake Camp one day to improve my craft.
Lovely Amy, my cakes do not tend to be particularly picturesque (as is yours—and green is my favorite color), since mostly I just care about whether there are going to be enough leftovers for me. I was, however, very pleased with this one.
India, would you be so good as to repeat the performance and allow me to gorge my vulgar self?
And perhaps — when you’ve a spare evening — essay a Floating Archipelago in the Shape of the Galápagos?
Thank you.
Hmm. I’ve never made a Floating Island (not even one), but if you bring the Galapagos map, we can try it with this recipe at Clusterflockstock.
